The Platform (2019) - 7/10
I grew up in a family of five so I'm very experienced when it comes to pigging yourself on communual food. It's a skill you acquire out of what you believe is a sense fairness, but really fairness never results. I still carry the scars today; I throw food into my face at an alarming rate even now, before quicking swallowing it after minimal chewing. Even with food that is entirely mine and won't be shared. Even when I'm alone. I'd have faired quite well in this prison I think, assuming, of course, I didn't get consecutively shafted on the levels. The idea behind this film sounds very odd but it's pulled off very well. If you're into violent, horrifying dystopias, you'll dig this, and at just 90 minutes it's a great length; much better than watching two episodes of Whatever Shite Series You're Currently Watching on Netflix.
