The Swimmers (2022) - 5/10
This is based on a true story about two Syrian girls who escaped from Damascus to Germany. They happen to be pretty good swimmers so the story is based around that, really. It's an average watch and it turns out they're not even that good swimmers, so really the whole thing is a load of bullshit. I get that people like these sort of films and there should absolutely be more films about the struggle that refugees have to endure, but this lacked something for me. Normally at this point I'd claim that they could have got better looking women to play the parts but these girls are teenagers so I obviously won't be saying that, because then I would sound like some awful, awful nonce, which I'm definitely not, despite anything you may see on Google.
