Dumplings (2004) - 7/10
Shock film from the nutters of the far east, part one of the Three Extremes, Mrs Lee is a ex TV star who knows that getting old means getting gone and she wants none of it. So what do you do when you need to be youthful and beautiful? You visit Aunt Mei and eat some dumplings.... You dont want to know whats in the dumplings, really, you dont, the crunch was more than enough.

This is a short film, the first of The Three Extremes, about a woman that will go to severe lengths to retain her youth. And when I say severe, I mean really severe. Another one not to be watched with your girlfriend/wife, especially not with both of them at the same time, because your wife might have a number of questions, which would obviously distract you from the film. A repulsive, but clever, storyline, and it's all packed into a bite-sized 40 minutes, too.

Horrific film from a talented japanese director fruit chan. I first got onto this from a japanese trilogy called "three extremes" (three short fucked up stories... more about that later). This without spoiling things is a fucked up film about essentially child abuse, the first time I watched this I felt physically sick, up there with irrreversible. Shocking cinema is the way forward.
