The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2009) - 7/10
Some things are just meant to be; John and Yoko, bacon and eggs, 1970's rock and heroin. They're like the ultimate marriage. The yin to one another's yang. The same can be said for foreign films and sexual abuse, and this keeps up the tradition. It follows the basic someone-gone-done-died-but-who-gone-done-did-it storyline that we've all seen a million times before, but this does a pretty good job of it. And because it's foreign we all trick ourselves into thinking we enjoy it more than we would do normally.

I wouldn't normally be the first person to watch a Swedish film with poorly translated subtitles, however I really liked the book that this is based on. As far as book conversions go, this is about the best I have seen and I am amazed at how much better Swedish people are at acting than Brits or Americans. Only really seen Swedish people acting in 1980's porn films before this one though.

Crime/thriller film based on the super best selling swedish book - Men Who Hate Women. Part of a trilogy. Essentially about a super smart female hacker girl who gets involed in an unsolved case dating back 40 years. Really suprising, some graphic scenes of abuse and violence and a few twists. Recommend watch. Making a british version atm, i'd say avoid that one like the plague, watch the swedish one with subtitles. 7.5/10.
