[Rec] 2 (2009) - 8/10
I’m starting to watch too many films with subtitles in! But if they’re like this film then great, -Estoy empezando a ver demasiadas películas con subtítulos en! Pero si son como esta película entonces bien, really enjoyed it, throw some people blindly into a crazy situation, bucket loads of panic, -realmente lo disfruté, lanzar algunas personas ciegas en una situación de locos, cargas cubo de pánico, demons and gore, classic, let go! -demonios y gore, clásico, vamos!
Ong Bak: The Beginning (2008) - 8/10
Fuck the subtitles, fuck the story just sit there in awe of Tony Jaa, no wires like that jarg arse Jet Lei, this film shows you what he's really capable of, unfortunately no muay tai is this one, just him showing off all the other fighting styles and weapon skills he knows, some of the fight scenes are truly immense, this guy gives Chuck Norris nightmares and you'll probably want to go out and kick someone's fucking head in after watching it, fucking loved it!
Mesrine: Public Enemy No. 1 (2008) - 5/10
Just as rushed as the first, some dark humour but of course it's in French so its quite hard to follow. So Jacques Mesrine take us on another journey of bank jobs, jail breaks and countless bundling accomplices’, it actually quite unlucky how they all fair throughout this ‘true’ story, qu'est-ce une charge de merde! 125.
Tony Manero (2008) - 5/10
Story about a Chilean serial killer obsessed with Tony Manero, the main character from Saturday Night Fever, it follows him putting on his own version of the film with his dancers (who are involved in underground activities against the regime of ’70 Chile) while killing anyone who gets in his way or if they stop him from achieving his goal. I’m not too sure about this film, some funny dark bits, but I was expecting a blood and sex rampage as the synopsis read.
Mesrine: Killer Instinct (2008) - 6/10
Another stab at a gangster classic by the French, this film didn’t really grip me at first as it doesn’t really give you the chance to build a background on the characters as one minute you’ll be asking “who’s he?” “oh don’t worry he’s dead now” “Hang on when did he go to America?” and so on, that’s only if you can see past Vincent Cassel massively spaced frog eyes (thank god for widescreen) all in all very rushed and it has one of the most pointless jail breaks of all time.
Legion (2010) - 6/10
As most films go the beginning is great the end is a bit of a let down, just think Terminator and you'll have the idea of this film, Skynet = God, Terminator = Angels, Kyle Reese = Michael and a women carrying a baby that if it doesn't live we don't either, bugger!
Box (2004) - 4/10
The film starts with the words "That's were the dream ends" I wish it did.... Unfortunately I had to sit there and WTF throughout the film to climax with a confused WTF at the end, glad it was a short film though.
