Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) - 6/10
This film reminds me a lot of loveless sex. At the start, you're excited. A few minutes in, you're fully expecting to have your mind blown. Twenty minutes of groping later and you're still enjoying it, but you're concerned about the conclusion. There's a shallowness to it; an unfamiliarity. Like football matters more when there's money on it, action films matter more when there's a storyline. Not just unadulterated 100mph violence without any emotional connection. Otherwise it's just a fumble in the sand. I love a good car chase as much as anyone, but I get a bit fed up when it goes on for two hours.
