White Noise (2022) - 3/10
The Airborne Toxic Event are my favourite band. Their lead singer, Mikel Jollett, a sensational song writer and human being, took the bands name from a chapter of a book he loved. This film was based on that same book. Reason enough for me to watch it. Add in Adam Driver and Don Cheadle, both actors I admire, and the fact it was directed by Noah Baumback and, well, surely this would be a belter. Well - spoiler alert - it is not a belter. It's much too crazy and much too arty for me. Almost like it was made exclusively to appeal to award-voting movie reviewers and not for the common man. In fact, I turned it off eventually. A shame, indeed.
